Fall Week 4 Stand Out Players
With help from our coaches, we hope to spotlight our outstanding players each week! Our apologies...we missed week 3!
The Machine Pitch Yankees continue to work hard and succeed! Manager John Martin is leading a great group of kids to not only win games, but grow as a team and as little people! Isaiah Buck had a stand out week with hits in each game he played! But, the star of the show, once again this week, was Camila Luna! Camila is batting 1.000 for the season! She is showing the boys how the game should be played!
What can you say about the Machine Pitch Rangers that Coach John Marshall hasn't already said?! While speaking to him this week he used to word awesome no fewer than 15 times in a 10 minute conversation! Coach Marshall and his squad continued their winning ways and are still undefeated! Stand out players...? They have 12! The Rangers are the total package this year! Will anyone knock them off this season?
Much like the storied rivalry in the MLB, the Minors division Yankees and Red Sox played down to the wire in a battle of wills Thursday! The Red Sox took control in the first, the Yankees rallied. Red Sox continued to add on runs and thought the game was out of reach only to have the Yankees fight back and tie the game in the final inning! The Red Sox came to bat with no time remaining on the clock...after a Logan Dickerson long, hard at-bat leading to a strikeout, CJ Ramos stepped to the plate. Not wanting to drag out the anticipation, Ramos drove the first pitch he saw into left center field and never stopped running! An inside the park, walk off homerun!
The Majors/Intermediate Rangers stepped up big on Wednesday, handing the Astros their first loss of the year! The game was highlighted by a sparkling defensive play by Tip Wade...starting a double play by snagging a line drive while playing firstbase and making a strong throw to second to end an Astros rally. In Friday's match up with the Nationals, Holden Kettenring drove a high fastball to centerfield. The ball hit the fence with a resounding "THUD" and Holden made his way around for a stand up, inside the park homerun!
The Nationals in the Majors/Intermediate division ended the week on a high note, beating the Rangers 9-6. Great pitching from Jake Utterback and Michael Trainer helped the Nationals hold the Rangers to 2 earned runs! Matthew Baca added some great defense, including the final out of the game and a ball hit off the centerfield wall for a double!
The Juniors Yankees beat the KALL Royals behind a masterful performance from Phillip Luciano! 6 innings, 10 strikeouts in a 6-4 win!

And they tell you to hit it square."-Willie Stargell
